The Social Justice Commission is committed to serving and educating students, individuals, families, and communities, both within and outside of the parish community, and to advocate for social justice locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
The Social Justice Commission endeavors to provide opportunities to learn and practice the Seven Themes of Catholic Social Teaching:
Life and Dignity of the Human Person,
Call to Family and Community,
Rights and Responsibilities of the Human Person,
Option for the Poor and Vulnerable,
The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers,
Solidarity, and Care For God's Creations.

Social Justice Activities
We are proud of several regular social justice activities that occur regularly at St. Teresa's.
Cafe' Manna: Provide food and company for all those in need every Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm.
Food Baskets: Seasonal preparation of Food Baskets for those in need.
Angel Tree: Providing Christmas presents for children of the poor.
Service Mission Trips: Yearly trips to help rebuild New Orleans and provide Valparaiso University students opportunities for a Spring Mission Trip.
Rice Bowl: Fund raiser during Lent for Catholic Relief Services.
Offering of Letters: Advocacy to Congress on Hunger Issues sponsored by Bread for the World.
Right to Life: There are participation opportunities throughout the year (Example: Life Chain) and you will be notified through the bulletin, announcements and the website.
