St. Teresa of Avila uses a Family Faith Formation model for religious education, which empowers parents to teach the faith to their children. You do not need a theology degree to do this! A genuine love for Christ and a willingness to spend intentional time sharing each week's step by step lessons will get you on your way!
Parents and children meet once a month on the campus of Valparaiso University, where children attend age appropriate classes with a catechist, and parents gather for a faith sharing conversation of their own.

We are using a brand new curriculum this year from Loyola Press called Finding God | Loyola Press. After each monthly session, weekly follow up lessons are provided in the student book, with parents guiding the process using the At Home Resources for each age level (b1715_FG20_AtHomeEdition_G3_U1.pdf (s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com) or with the Parent Quick Guide to lead the whole family at one time (FG_FamCat_ParentQuickGuide.pdf (lpress-craft.s3.amazonaws.com)
There are also fun session reviews done at the end of each unit to reinforce what has been learned. Finding God - Grade 3, session 1 review These reviews are quick, simple and helpful.
