There are numerous opportunities to serve during the worship services at St. Teresa's and we're always looking to welcome new parishioners into this ministry. Training is provided for all of the litrugical ministries and is open to all who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The committment is one Mass per 4-6 weeks.
Altar Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received Holy Communion for the first time and normally receive the Eucharist whenever they participate in the liturgy. Servers will receive proper formation before they begin to function. The duties of the Altar Servers include, but are not limited to carrying the cross, the processional candles, holding the book for the priest, presenting the bread, wine, and water to the priest during the preparation of the gifts or assisting him when he receives the gifts from the people, wash the hands of the priest, assisting the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.
If you or your child are interested in becoming an Altar Server, please complete the Google Form and the Altar Server Coordinator, Kearney Szevery, will be in touch with you.
