Shortly after being ordained on June 4, 2011 to service in the Diocese of Gary, "Deacon Bob" was assigned to serve his community of over 16 years, St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center in Valparaiso. Bishop Melczek assigned Bob additional pastoral work with the diocesan Office for Youth & Young Adults.
Bob and wife Karen have been actively involved with St. Teresa of Avila for nearly twenty-five years. Together they have six children and eight grandchildren.
While completing his Masters in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, he enjoyed his studies in Italy, along with his studies in Greece and Turkey which took him on the footsteps of St. Paul.
Bob was employed by Arcelor Mittal Steel at the I/N Kote facility in New Carlisle as a Management Mechanical Resource. He has an extensive background in business, human resources, leadership development, and organizational management.
Bob is not shy about his love of Scripture and how Christ is alive in our lives today...his mantra is, "What do you want me to do for you?" (Mk 10:51) So just ask him!
