Mass Intentions
What does it mean to have a Mass "offered" for someone? An individual may ask a priest to offer a Mass for several reasons: for example, in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person (such as on a birthday), or, as is most common, for the repose of the soul of someone who has died. If you are interested in offering a Mass for someone, please complete the mass intention form and return it to the office.
Masses will be confirmed once the office has them scheduled. This information can be put in an envelope labeled MASS INTENTIONS and placed in the collection basket, mailed, or dropped off at the office.
First Friday memorial mass association
The First Friday Memorial Mass Association is an offering made by parishioners, through which their intentions are remembered at a special Mass to be celebrated on the first Friday of each month at 12:30pm. Contact the office at 219-464-4042 or email us here for more information.
Ministry of Care
Since the Eucharist is integral to our identity as Catholics, it is vital that we make the Eucharist available to community members who are homebound, in nursing homes, or are hospitalized. Trained ministers bring the presence of Christ with their care and compassion, so that the homebound realize that their faith community is praying with them and for them.
